nickybkk... i've dropped u my email via pm... wassup dude?

davestan... interesting to hear people offloading their luxury cars in a hurry... and sounding desperate too... looks like firesales there and as u noted, it may (or has already) spilled into watches...

fernando... cash is king indeed. read an article about loadsapeople buying safes as they don't want to put it in banks that might go down... this is making sure the cash is close at hand and won't dissapear with imploding institutions smile

Ronald, agreed. panic selling is not the smart thing to do... being more careful in what you bring into the collection is important, but what if you have 10 keepers and love all 10 and can't part with them as you are not sure if you can ever replace them, but you still have to sell? tough decisions will have to be made...

Graham, looks like you're hunting in the right spots (pre-owned markets) smile all the best on getting great buys. whats on your 'to purchase' list?

Eryck, real retail prices look to go south soon... watch companies/retailers love playing with the discounts, so the list might still be as high as it is and not retreat much but the discounts may go much much deeper depending on how low demand goes and how long it remains low...

cheers
raph

As you said, 2006 and 2007 are banner years for the watch industry. It was a banner year for Wall Street as well, and banner year for everything. That was the height of the bubble. Now that the bubble is burst, maybe, just maybe, retail prices in the indu...

advise not just for now, but always

IMHO, hot watches will continue to remain sought after and prices will still hold, the regular run off the mill will certainly suffer... hang on tight mates... for its going to a long and bumpy ride
