Chuckles, I doubt if too many folk take our WIS type analysis too seriously, and they shouldn't...its like tasting wines after reading the whole review. I hope they buy the watch for the emotional content too.
But you are correct....the alignments can be off. This I learnt from the nightmare homologation at the IWC homologation dept, with baking the watch with dials and all.
I have posted it here in thepurists in Jan 2008.
At IWC, when I saw the flat one piece dial being baked with the whole watch in homologation, it was tough...more heat and even the gold appliques will expand differently...those tiny 2 pins that hold the index down behave badly.
Here with several layers, and different co effiecients of expansion, the tiny appliques are more than surviving. maybe impossible to do better at the moment.
Bulgari has a similar homologation department, as can be seen on their corporate tours/videos...not as detailed as IWC yet...but still impressive.
They have a dept just for testing bracelets.
Like before..I feel that I have to share this watch with you all...the last great find was the Chopard LUC Flerier in 2006.
