Vintage Movado watches

are some of the most undervalued, overlooked and misunderstood pieces on the market IMHO. I mean, tell me another brand that can offer you inhouse movements, Francois Borgel cases with thick gold plating (40 instead of 20 Microns) and massive gold dials in such an attractive package for less than the price of an Orient Mako (no joke, at least I paid 120€ for this one):

Yes, it is not in perfect but in honest condition for its age. I only cleaned it, polished the crystal with Polywatch and gave the case a light touch up with Cape Cod cloths. Added a new strap and now it is more thsn presentable IMHO. There are some deeper scratches in the glass that will need some more care but for now I am satisfied with my latest impulse-buy. smile

There are some true gems to be discovered. I love mine - a F. Borel case and an immaculate radium-lumed dial. ...

Wow, that is an extremely attractive watch!

And it confirms my statement about Movado.

Oh yes, this one, too!!!

Indeed, an M90 or M95 Chronograph would also be a nice piece,

but these are far from affordable, unfortunately.

Hummmmm....

Not mines, to be honest.

the clous de paris dial is indeed something that makes this particular model stand out from the crowd. Definitely not an understatement-piece!

Agreed Movado are really understated !

Here is mine from the late 40's: How to know whether case is from Borel ? ...

I'm not an expert,

but I think when there is a key and F.B. symbol on the inside of caseback like this: You know it is a Francois Borgel case. Nice watch by the way! ...

I agree. My three vintage ones.
