Cartier Ballon Bleu / Question
Apr 15, 2013,06:48 AM
Hi,
I have a question for the forum.. Hopefully its not a novice ype question. I saw the said watch in a Jewelry shop, which has high end watches like rolex's, Breitling, and Cartier. the watch was going for £3250. I made an offer of £3000 pound and it was agreed. I went in the shop today and had a look at it, i didnt even get to ask if they could open up the back and show me the guts of the watch because i asked for its paper work and they informed me that it had no paper work and the person that they bought the watch from is a trusted and valued customer. They then said that its not really that important to have the original paperwork as theyve bought it without paperwork. They then said that they will give a letter of authentic with the purchase of the watch. I was then told by them that when the watch gets serviced in like 5 years or so that cartier will send me sometype of paper work with the watch after it is serviced with them. They then said the watch is a couple of years old but couldnt confirm it because thats what the seller told them.
Would you still purchase this watch?

Usually brand warranty last 12 months for the original buyer so a used watch is not covered by the paperwork. The other papers that may be useful is the instruction booklet but you already know how to work a simple watch. The most important credential is ...

The fact that you start posting over here asking for advice seems to have a toll on the credibility of the seller your going to purchase with. Never buy something that you don't feel comfortable with. Thereafter, maybe you can drop by cartier boutique and...

Unless you are absolutely in love with this particular watch from this particular dealer, why mess with it at all if you have even the slightest doubt about it's authenticity? As an alternative, there are many reputable online seller/dealers, most with li...
