Now Now....it's NOT like that.
At one or two events that I attend in the course of my hobby, I get to go to the ladies' events too where there are more jewellery than watches on show. At these events, the talk always comes round to advice about watches, maybe because of my association with PuristS.
The Serpenti have been the topic of more than one converstaion....even...shhhh...... not at Bulgari events!
The primary driver is Wow factor; be honest - you don't wear a Serpenti to be a shrinking violet. Aptly, the theme for this year at Bulgari is 'Mediterranean Eden', where, I believe the serpent plays a big role.
The next driver is comfort and the non-welded, non-screwed, bracelet is uber-smooth and uber-cool.
Then, we talk about ease of use and I am not shocked anymore that soem people would prefer not to wind their watches by hand or use an automatic.......BTW, how do you put a Serpenti in an automatic winder?
Finally, the dreaded cost comes into the discussion. Here the steel versions score highly because they are affordable but also durable in actual usage. Don't sniff at the steel though because even a half-bling diamond-set steel Serpenti will need a few apples sacrificed before you can be beguiling on your wrist!
