Inside the Bulgari Boutique at The Crystals Shopping Center at City Center Las Vegas: Part 1

Jul 26, 2010,19:44 PM

MGM Grand debuted the new City Center property centrally located on the middle of the Las Vegas Strip in December 2009.  It redefined the grandeur of the typical Vegas resort by residing on 67 acres of land in between the luxurious Bellagio and Monte Carlo resort casinos.  City Center has over 500,000 square feet of dining, shopping, and entertainment and offer it's visitors several accommodation choices including the Mandarin Oriental hotel, Aria casino and resort, Vdara and Veer condo/residential towers all centered around the Crystals Shopping Center.

The Crystals Shopping Center has large spacious areas and expansive use of natural light incorporated in it's environmentally friendly aspects.   In fact, one of the green features is the special drop off and parking area for alternative fuel vehicles.  Another innovative design is the concrete flooring system.  It has built-in plastic tubes that can carry cold water that cools the flooring and regulates the temperature in the building.  This is perfect since the summer temperatures can reach over 110 degrees.  Alternatively warm water can heat the structure during the winter times.

The retail stores at Crystal include many high-end luxury brands including the new Bulgari Boutique on the main floor.  This new flagship store is the second in Las Vegas (the first located at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace) and spans 4600 square feet.

This is not your ordinary storefront, the architectural design of the boutique has two separate entrances: one for the vast Bulgari accessories such leather goods, their famous 7 fold neck ties, and perfumes; and the other entrance specifically for watches and jewelryAlthough the facade of the entrance is a traditional design the decorated walls are made of rich chocolate brown gris pulpis marble with BVLGARI's elegant logo set in bronze.

Unlike other Bulgari boutiques the center of the store has a gorgeous floor-to-ceiling fountain surrounded by fourteen video screens with images of Capitoline Square creating a warm ambiance and a feeling of being in Rome.

The chandelier at the top of the fountain is made of Murano glass and cascades down into the center of the fountain base.  A closeup of the chandelier:

And the base of the fountain with a sitting area for customers to relax and enjoy the serene view of the boutique.  New pieces from the Bulgari collection are displayed in glass cases surrounding the room.

Outside of the boutique are sleek tall glass window storefront displays showcasing leather handbags for women:

And leather briefcases and Bulgari 7-fold neckties in saglione and fine jacquard silk for men:

And a few pendants, earrings, bracelets and rings from the jewelry collection :

All the displays presents the Bulgari accessories nicely, but our main focus was to see the Bulgari watches.  Although the Bulgari, Sotirio, Gerald Genta and Daniel Roth novelties from SIHH 2010 are expected to be available in the next few months we were still treated to some very exciting watches in the current collection.  Here's a teaser shot of a special limited edition piece from the Sotirio collection:

More pics of the watches coming soon in Part 2.

Very nice store! I'm very interested in the fountain! I find that Bulgari stores are very consistent, but each location has its own twist on the design language.

The fountain is a great design element incorporated in the boutique, here's a video :)

Hi Patrick, Thanks for checking out the visit. I'll post the watch pics soon, but in the mean time here's a video of the fountain. I really like this design and it creates a really tranquil atmosphere inside the boutique. Would it be too weird to bring in...

We've got to do that at IGOTT!
