An unexpected answer from a lady about Bulgari complicated watches
Jul 24, 2013,12:41 PM
Ping,
Until last week, the current Mrs MTF maintained NO interest in watches with gemstones and quartz movements, ladies' or otherwise. Well, almost no interest....
She does like her customised Chopard Happy Sports as the exceptions to the rule (note plural).
She did not wear the A.S, Lange Soiree (based on Lange 1) that I got her, until three years later because it had diamonds on the bezel and mother-of-pearl dial.
Last week, we dared enter a Bulgari boutique to look at the fabulous jewellery from the late Elizabeth Taylor's collection. We also saw the new BVLGARI female watch complications and they received a positive response.....eek!
As a fan of Gerald Genta watches with jumping hour or retrograde displays and tourbillons in general, the new Bulgari watches garnered coo-ing sounds of approval and the gem-setting was declared "attractive".
What's going on? Did Bulgari get it right?
I know its only a sample size of n=1 but that single data point means 100% to me.
Regards,
MTF

Impressive winding rotor...

That's an impressive winding rotor. If there was one place to "further-embellish" the movement, the winding rotor would be that place. Thanks Ping!
