Hi Daos,
Well, perhaps not skeletons; how about "open face"?
Here are a few random responses to the points you make:
I approve of your choice of the YG Tradition. Generally I prefer the warmth of rose gold, but Breguet have come up with a unique alloy for this watch (purportedly to match the colour of the Souscription watches) that exudes the typical Breguet warmth.
I have handled the Tradition Tourbillon a couple for times in boutiques now. Admittedly not the most relaxed environment to do so, but despite a lot of things I love about this watch, I find the proportions wrong for my wrist. Still, I wouldn’t mind if someone left one on my doorstep with an “adopt me” note attached!
I like your description of the AP as I think this is something that AP do very well – traditional watchmaking techniques and finishes in a modern, even avant-garde, setting.
The ChronoAP is a great achievement for all the reasons you describe and particularly the escapement and 6Hz oscillation frequency. The only place I get stuck is with the size of the balance wheel. I understand from an engineering POV why it is so, but it seems incongruous to the way it is presented in a large (for me) 46mm case. Now I have not had this on my wrist and perhaps the size works in reality better than it does on paper, so I will not comment further at this point.
If we do not touch on the value-for-money paradigm then there is definitely room for both these watches in my world too (and a GO Panoinverse, and an AP Dead Beat Millenary / Cabinet Piece No. 5 / MC12)!
