Prototype snapshots of the 99-piece-edition of the dual
time-zone display Bulgari Papillon Voyageur 2012 with the interesting
minute indication system.
For more details of the features and functions, please refer to the press release , by clicking here.
The local time window at 12H (in 24-hour format), whereas the second-timezone is at the centre of the watch.
The hand(s) on the circumference of the second timezone is the minute-indicator.
The minute indication system has 2 minute-hands on a
revolving-disc. Each hand takes turn to perform one hour and the disc
will
do one revolution in two hours.
Perhaps one of the hands should be marked or shaped differently to illustrate there are two hands.
Initial quick look, I was wondering where another hand (or
indicator) for the outer-most ring... quite misleading, just a
ten-minute hour-ring
just to balance the dial layout. Or perhaps, a seconde retrograde may be in the works.
The interesting part is when the minute-hand reaches 55-minute. This is the window when both the minute-hands could be seen
during the transition. Unfortunately did not manage to photograph it.
The press release picture has captured it well.
The quick-adjust button to forward to the second timezone at location 2H.
Clearly indicated with the '+' sign...
Note the curves of the bezel and sapphire crystal ...
The adjust backward the second timezone, this is the well-polished pusher ... the '-' pusher.
Polished rim and motif, with the middle area microblasted.
Note the profile of the Papillion, the bezel and crystal curved in two planes... Nice!
Integrated leather strap, seamlessly 'flowing out' from the caseband.
Automatic Calibre DR1307, well-decorated, beating at 4 Hz and has a power reserve of 45 hours.
Caseback seems thick, alluding to a small movement .
Leather strap secured with deployant buckle.
