September 1, 2010 - For the second year, BVLGARI is participating in FASHION'S NIGHT OUT, the brilliant collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry's economy, and put the fun back in shopping.

PATTY SMYTH TO PERFORM IN BVLGARI'S FIFTH AVENUE STORE TO CELEBRATE FASHION'S NIGHT OUT

This year BVLGARI will open its doors to the public at 6:00pm [editor's note: on Friday September 10, 2010], offering cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres. American rock and roll musician Patty Smyth will perform two sets of live music, tentatively scheduled at 7:30pm and 8:30pm.

Patty Smyth, an Oscar and Grammy nominated, multi-platinum selling singer and songwriter, is also a devoted BVLGARI customer. She recently signed on as a supporter of BVLGARI's Save the Children project, Rewrite the Future - a campaign devoted to providing quality education to children all over the world, particularly those living in conflict areas. Since 2009 BVLGARI has raised more than $9 million for STC, and recently pledged to raise $7.4 million more before the end of 2011.

BVLGARI will introduce a new ring to raise part of the funds; made of sterling silver and enamel, each ring is priced at $370, of which $75 is donated to STC. During Fashion's Night Out, customers will have an exclusive chance to purchase the ring early, prior to its official October arrival in Bulgari stores.

Born and raised in New York, Patty Smyth began performing onstage at the age of 15; she became lead singer of the band Scandal in 1982, and soared to success when the video for their single "Goodbye To You" became #1, earning them status as one of the pioneers of MTV. The group's first full-length album, "The Warrior," was released in 1984, and went platinum.

Smyth went on to record a series of hit singles and albums both solo and with Scandal; her most impressive successes came in the '90s, when her song "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough" became her biggest hit ever, earning her greatest hits album platinum status.

Smyth also wrote and recorded soundtrack commissions for movies that earned her both Grammy and Academy Award nominations, including the "Armageddon" soundtrack that sold 10 million copies.

Smyth lives in New York City with her husband (tennis legend John McEnroe) and six children.
