Why this reference is called a regulator ?

That uncomfortable space on the left, it could have been used somehow. Maybe less is more in this case.

A wristshot of the Patek 5235G

I have always mixed emotions with this one. At the end, I don't know if I like or not. I still think that the empty zone on the left is a bit disturbing. But the 5235G has a kind of cold charm which doesn't leave me indifferent. Fx...

Not for me.

The watch itself is quite interesting. However, in 2003 I bought a VC Regulator. I never learned to see the time from that without stopping to think. "It does not make any sense to teach an old dog any new tricks". Best, Kari

A very interesting piece. Very polarizing I love mine but would agree

It is quite an old habit in watchmaking for accuracy purposes

By: Mark in Paris : May 1st, 2015-08:38
In their workshop the watchmakers used to be setting the clock they were working on using a very accurate central clock (soemtimes called the "mother" clock) installed somewhere in the room. They were the more precise existing clock (except Marine clocks ...

I like the fact it has a great movement and is quite an unusual Patek

I still have a personal problem with brushed dials but the watch appeals to me very much, especially because of the 260 housing elements of the Advanced Research program. Thanks for sharing Fx. Cheers, Mark

I put an order for this one 18m ago

but I hear nothing from the AD. I find the watch clinically attractive. It is almost surgical. I like that. There is a clean and neat aesthetic to the dial. I like that. This will never be a popular or big seller. I sort of like that too. One niggle. As a...

Joe. This is an interesting piece and the date function

Does not detract from the watch The brushed dial adds to the uniqueness and the enamelled letters stand out I would persevere with the ad I love mine Julian

"18m" for... "18 minutes" ?

You're not very patient Joe! More seriously I think it is a very good choice, beside the front side, the relguator display, it houses the fantastic 31-260 micro rotor caliber with Pulsomax and Spiromax. Hope you'll be able to share many pictures when you ...

Instant classic

Does anyone know

Is the dial finished the same way as the 5550?

almost same...

... as 5550P and 5270G, except that the deepness of the brushed dial feels different on each piece. 5235 being the most extreme, and the 5270 the smoothest

Hi foversta, the 5235 is a wonderful watch IMO because...

the dial looks just wonderful, it has a new movement , and it carries the history of a regulator clock in Patek. My watch maker friend who owns one just love it ! I tried my friends' 5235 on my wrist several times and the only issue for me is that it take...

Having just looked at 100's of regulator dials, I love it

 By: cazalea : May 14th, 2015-10:57
I agree with you that regulators are harder to read, and sometimes the dial arrangements are very "eccentric". I wonder if some dates, power reserve indicators and so on are added just to fill that empty space? But this one I like a lot, and I could overl...
