Gentlemen, We have started discussing about what could the next 5170P look like in a recent post. This is the kind of thoughts (maybe "fantasy" is more suitable) we can have concerning many references not unveiled yet as the 5170 in Pt or RG, the 5270P et...  

Personally think a bit of a shame that Patek decided to release a black dial 5170G in the same year as the 5370P. Visually too similar to be released together me thinks. Instead I would have loved to have seen a 5170R alongside the release of the 5370P. I...  

Is there any precedence in Patek's line of watches ? I think it's unlikely that Patek will do blue chronograph hands, for fear of following the likes of A.Lange & Sohn pieces, risking critique and falling in the shadows of ALS. But to dream is fun and...

I have the same feeling that you express in your first paragraph. I was surprised to see 2 black dial chronograph references at once. There was maybe a reason as the 5370P will remain very rare, at a very low production volume, hence, it allows other cust...

and we could see an example lately with the 5250 Advanced Research. This is indeed a combination we haven't seen much really. As you are, I would be very curious to see these models from London on nice pictures. The ones I could see on the net are not rea... 

I know Patek put a great dial on an Annual Calendar quite a few years ago-can't remember the reference. And I like dials that almost match the case color, such as Voutilainen has done. But cream is my favorite.

It would be a very nice surprise and interesting model. I don't know if they will choose that move but they will succeed in making something quite unique, rare and original compared to what we see from traditional brands and which still looks fantastic. W... 

I remember my 1815 in RG I liked quite much. The silvery dial used with white metals are often too cold and too grey for me and I regret the more opaline dial we usually find in RG watches. Furthermore, the RG reflects on the dial which brings something m...

I saw it today :) It has a very well made square movement, I thought they would have chosen one more basic. It looks very discreet, not show off at all, and the case's sides shape is something I like a lot.

.... so a 5270P with blue dial would be my choice. 5170P with blue is good too. Basically, their white gold is now grey gold, so it really works only with white/silver popping dial to contrast with the case. However there is something we can do to make ou... 

For me came out perfect. It may also look cool with the same Plat case but with ENAMEL Blue dial. Possibly the same blue shade that's on the 5070p. Other cool combos would be platinum with White Enamel as well Rose gold with black enamel dial.

Blue dials are very nice and became much more famous since the 5070P. Now for the new one I imagine it is more likely to get a 5170P Blue dial from Patek rather than a 5270P as the blue dial already exists in blue. However, I think you have an excellent s... 

... to see a 5270P in blue of course, we are left with the black dial. Now we can always get the Wg and the P and swap dials :))

steel case would indeed be terrific. However, it is more than unlikely that it will ever happen. A person from the top of Patek told me recently that their absolute limit is to produce 20% of the watches in steel. That is the reason why already now the wa...
