Patek Philippe: +1 ...it doesn't seem like removing this apparently minor (i.e., not deep) scratch

will result in any of the negatives of having a polished watch. If it bothers you, I'd just have Patek remove the scratch and move on.

Girard Perregaux: The green is an off-putting hue, to me

The marketing-speak is utterly dumb, and a turn-off. As to the Lauretos in full gold, why not?

Jaeger-LeCoultre: Nice, but expensive and big

I don't see much value here, not to beat the drum about price too much. A fairly pedestrian movement viewed from the back -- a solid caseback would have been better, or much better yet, an upgraded movement at this price. JLC could also have made a more svelte model as an alternative to the Nautilus

Breguet: Wonderful piece.

Even with so many complications, Breguet has maintained fidelity to its historic design aesthetic. Well done! Cheers, John

Jaeger-LeCoultre: I know they're different, but I personally much prefer JLCs work of this kind to Patek's

Patek gets all the love, but from subject matter to execution, I much prefer JLC. Congrats on getting such a nice piece! Cheers, John
