Apparently they will continue as in the past and sell the other brands as well.

Visited a BUCHERER today...

Talked with some of the employees there and they were blindsided with the Rolex takeover news this week. According to them that is. I was not surprised. Rolex has kept most news close to the vest for many years. No, there weren't any steel Rolex's availab...

The contents were poured into champagne flutes..

Do you know what this acquisition means for all the Tourneau/Bucherer locations?

They aren’t all turning into Rolex boutiques, are they?

Not acording to the manager.

Intersting move by Rolex. We shall see.

I hope you had a good visit and chat. And the "many gold models"?? I assume they weren't the sports type (Daytona, Sub, GMTs, but rather dressier DD and DJ. And were many smaller ladies' size and/or watches decorated with diamonds too? Where I live, still...

Had an excellent time there.

Actually they had a yellow gold Yacht-Master II for sale. But you are correct on the diamond bezels and ladies models.

Independents must be worried

I imagine independents losing their Rolex AD designation if there is a Bucherer or Tourneau nearby.

Well... Obviously retail level employees are not aware of these high level decisions...

So of course they're blindsided.

I spoke to management also, they had no Idea either.

My apologies, I should have included that in my original post. Was distracted as I posted last night.

You fail to realize the point...

 By: patrick_y : August 27th, 2023-17:47
It's kept secret until it's publicly released... Thus, nobody in the company who isn't directly involved in the deal would know... This is typical of all major company acquisitions...

Firstly, Your aggressive tone is unwelcome and unnecessary. Please let me explain.

 By: farkbinder01212 : August 27th, 2023-18:43
Secondly, I am completely aware how acquisitions are conducted from initial communications to successfully clearing fiduciary, regulatory and legal hurdles. I'm sure you know that internal rumors and leaks pertaining to acquisitions at these dollar levels...

YOU INDICATED YOU VISITED A BUCHERER STORE - Nobody at the store-level would be expected to know about the merger until it had been publicly announced...

 By: patrick_y : August 27th, 2023-19:38
In general, all employees, even a general manager of a BUCHERER STORE wouldn't know about this until it was released. To say you "spoke to management also, they had no Idea either" implies that you think they would potentially have some advanced knowledge...

Again, your aggressive and childish tone is unwelcome and unsolicited

 By: farkbinder01212 : August 27th, 2023-19:51
Although you received ample explanation, your rebuttal? and comments are rife with completely unsolicited hostility. Secondly I gave you a gentlemanly pointed admonition that went many miles over your head. Which is perfectly fine with me, your choice. We...
