Hope this post provides some inspiration for friends who are taking their summer vacations.
Last
month, visited the exotic island of Bali. The weather was much cooler
than earlier in the year. For some of you planning your summer
holidays, Bali should be on your list. Bali is sort of a magical
venue, somehow when the plane touched down at Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport,
the load and tension on my shoulder just disappeared. Yes, unexplained
and perhaps psychological too.
The fantasy island offers both
exciting, happening and tranquil stay depending on the which locations
on the island. This round, the area chosen was at the quieter and
peaceful southern part of Bali - Uluwatu, the southern tip of the
Jimbaran peninsula.
We stayed in two absolutely fantastic
resorts. First stop at the Alila Villa Uluwatu and followed by BVLGARI
Hotels & Resorts Bali. Both resorts are situated on the clifftop
plateau along the southern coastline of Bali facing the majestic Indian
Ocean.
The journey from Ngurah Rai Airport to Alila Villa Uluwatu took about 40 minutes.
Arrived at the destination ...
Infinity pool seems to flow towards the Indian Ocean.
Spectacular architecture in the whole villa. Taking the main stand is this Sunset Cabana suspended above the cliff.
Definitely the place for a beautiful sunset.
A view from the sunset cabana.
Next stop to the BVLGARI Hotels & Resorts Bali.
The journey from Alila to BVLGARI Bali is just a close 10-minutes away...
After two security inspection, our limousine arrived at the Arrival-Pavillion ...
A magnificent view of part of the BVLGARI Hotels & Resorts Bali built on a sloping land.
A buggy came shortly and fetched us to the villa.
Each of 59 villas has both indoor and outdoor spaces. The total size ranges from 300 and 500 square meters.
Once
entered the main door, one passes a small garden. Next will reach the
a patio, an open-air living room and a plunge pool which end a couple
of metres before the edge of the cliff.
For those who like cigars, this is your choice spot Calm and quiet, with the constant company of gentle cool breeze brushing against your face, be it in the afternoon or evening.
Absolutely tranquil.
The serene sky and a bright blue sea with the sound of wave hitting the shore is pretty therapeutic.
The interior is luxuriously decorated and built with mahogany woods. The glass-paneled perimeter allow natural light to come in during the day and overlooking the Indian Ocean in the comfort of air-conditioning.
The bed, one of the most comfortable I've slept on!
A vanity area specially for the Lady
The impressive bathroom - have a choice of shower, tub or rain shower (both indoor and outdoor)
Smells good whole day as all toiletries are BVLGARI.
One
of the must-do in BVLGARI Bali besides the spa and the restaurants is a
visit to their private beach, and hopefully it is low tide when
arrived.
To reach the exclusive beach, 150 metres from the clifftop, must board a funicular (inclined elevator).
The rail from the base to the cliff top ...
Upon arriving at the base, will pass by the La
Spiaggia, a restaurant and bar which you could enjoy a drink or meal
with the company of the refreshing sea-breeze and the song of the
waves.
After which you could take a stroll on the private white sand beach of BVLGARI.
If the tide retreats further, you could access the another area beyond the huge boulders!
Alternatively,
you can drinks and relax at the terrace Bar. This Bar is extremely
popular to even non-residents of the resort, especially around the
sunset hour!
Within a short 50 metres, there are two restaurants, Il
Ristorante and Sangkar Restaurant which offer a wide range of choices
from Italian to the local Indonesian dishes.
A
stone throw from the restaurants (towards the reception area) is the
gymnasium, business centre, a boardroom, a gift shop and a BVLGARI
Store!
Inside the BVLGARI Store, there is a quite a comprehensive collection of watches and jeweleries!
Another surprise finding - a special limited edition watches for the Bulgari Hotels and Resorts, Bali - Diagono Aluminium limited edition “Bali".
Only available on this island and this BVLGARI resort !
A few shots with my travel lens (no macros) ...
Both pieces of the 44mm Diagono Aluminium limited edition “Bali” are mechanical self-winding.
Understand both the movements are ETA based.
The automatic Time-only with date Diagono Aluminium limited edition “Bali” is limited to 350 pieces.
Dial is printed with the word "Bali".
Solid caseback with the limited edition number engraved.
Guessed the movement could be an ETA 2824-2.
The Diagono Aluminium Chronograph limited edition “Bali” is limited to 150 pieces.
Similarly like the time-only version, the caseback is engraved with the limited edition number.
The movement is likely ETA 7754 with "Tricompax" layout (subdials at 3H, 6H and 9H).
Time to enjoy the sunset
Words
could not fully describe the experience and you have to feel it, be
surrounded by the great hospitality, the nature, the breathtaking view of
the sea and the fabulous architecture.
Before leaving the resort, I was thinking of a return visit
